The Visibility Committee will convene a focus group on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 12:30 p.m.
in the Social Hall. The discussion will revolve around the
Congregation's "brand," or its outward appearance to the community. Ten
to twelve people are needed to give a variety of perspectives from all
demographic groups. Please consider staying after service on Sunday,
Nov. 1, to aid in this important work.
Saturday's choir practice has been canceled because our choir director has the flu. We'll reconvene next Saturday.
Now, on to the fun stuff:
At 4 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 24), our monthly 4th Saturday Social will
take place on the Patio, weather permitting, or in the Social
Hall if it's raining. The theme this month is a salad bar; organic
greens will be provided, so just bring your favorite salad toppings and
dressing, as well as whatever you'd like to drink (beer and wine
encouraged!).
On Sunday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m., Religious Exploration for Youth continues its exploration of UUism's 7th Principle in the RE Complex, while the Adult Discussion Group meets in the Social Hall to discuss the possibility of establishing ethical standards as a control on big business.
At 11 a.m., our minister Rev. Bonnie Devlin will offer part two of her sermon series on Congregational Health Ministry,
explaining how this emerging program can offer models for healing and
wholeness within our Congregation. Please come to find out how we can
strengthen our community.
At 2 p.m., EarthFamilies Evensong Gathering offers its monthly "Anime in the Afternoon" movie program, featuring the film Speed Grapher, episodes 7-12. Popcorn, candy and beverages are available for a donation.
I hope to see you this weekend at UU Lakeland!
In faith,
