What's Happening at UUCL this weekend:
Happy anniversary to Common GroUUndds Coffee House,
which has passed the one-year milestone. Thanks to Daniel Whitt and his
merry band of volunteers for bringing this youth-oriented music-fest to
our campus.
Saturday, Jan. 30
9 a.m. Choir Practice: Come to the
Sanctuary to lend your voice to the choir, which is planning special music for the upcoming Feb 13th Annual Dinner.
8 p.m. Friends of Joe:
Southern songsmith Eric Taylor rides into town to share his timeless
brand of storytelling. And UUCL favorites Billy Needs a Beard, who
performed at our annual Halloween Carnival, will open the
show, offering their folksy blend of original songs and classic covers.
Joe's Cafe, featuring a light dinner, beverages and snacks with

10 a.m. Adult Discussion Group:
ADG meets in the Social Hall to tackle the question, "When should you
go along to get along, and how do you decide?" It's bound to be a
lively exchange.
11 a.m. Sunday Service:
EarthFamilies, UU Lakeland's branch of the Covenant of UU Pagans,
offers its fifth-Sunday service. "Imbolc: Sacred Wells and the Muse of
Fire" examinies the Feb. 2 holiday of Candelmas, also called Brigid's
Day or Imbolc and the original idea behind Groundhog Day.
2 p.m. EarthFamilies Anniversary Picnic:
To celebrate the 5th anniversary of its founding, our CUUPs chapter
will host a pot-luck barbecue on the patio. Bring food to share and
prepare to dance, drum and enjoy.
