Greetings!

Radical folk singer Evan Greer and queer fabulist puppeteer Geppetta met in Boston several years ago while working with a youth-oriented climate justice organization. Since then, they have collaborated on an array interactive social justice-focused workshops and performances, uniting their different artistic styles and creative languages with a message of collective liberation.

They will be touring the Southeast together in Winter of 2010, performing and offering workshops on topics like Queer and Trans Liberation, Resisting Gentrification, Climate Justice, and Community Organizing.

Please get in touch if you are interested in bringing this tour to your community!

ABOUT EVAN GREER
Evan Greer is femme genderqueer singer/songwriter, community organizer, and popular educator based in Boston. He writes and performs high-energy acoustic songs that inspire hope, build community, and incite resistance! At 24 years old, he tours internationally and performs inspiring music to support movements for justice and liberation. With fiercely radical songs that vary in style from pop-punk singalongs to foot-stomp’n bluegrass, Evan has shared the stage with artists as musically diverse as Pete Seeger, Immortal Technique, Pamela Means, Billy Bragg, Boots Riley, Chumbawamba, State Radio, and Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine. In February 2009, Evan biked 1600+ miles during the Respect Yer Mama Bicycle Tour with Shannon Murray, stopping along the way to offer workshops and performances, and carrying a guitar in a bike-trailer. He recently completed the Steel Strings & Break Beats Tour with with New York-based activist hip-hop group Broadcast Live.

ABOUT GEPETTA
Currently based in Philadelphia, Geppetta creates mystical creatures and imaginary, yet nostalgic landscapes from recycled materials with a whimsical fervor. Her work features enchanting stories as told through puppet theater, multimedia art, and musical interludes that has been described as “mournful but ingenious” with delightful twists and turns. Her performance style has an ever-evolving nature that spills from theaters to subway cars, galleries to street corners and interweaves social justice issues, such as transgender liberation, queer activism, environmental justice, post-colonial struggles, youth education, and mental health support. Geppetta has been featured nationally with the Tranny Roadshow, the Femme Show, Puppet Uprising, Fresh Meat Productions, and Red Sun Press. The artists collaborate once again to tour the Southeast with high-energy performances and insightful workshops that engage and educate and invoke the spirit of creative resistance.
