What’s Happening this Sunday, December 16

10:00 a.m. – Adult Discussion Group

What is the individual makeup of the UU denomination? Is growth possible?

10:00 a.m.- Village RE

Join Keyno Hicks and your RE team in the beloved annual UUCL tradition of building the Reindeer Corral. We will use natural materials and traditional methods to build a corral where Santa may rest his reindeer during their Christmas Eve journey!

This activity is great for ALL ages, from the very little, to the young at heart. We may learn a little about UUCL history, native building traditions, and Christmas legends!

Revel in the magic or help build it for others – the annual reindeer corral build will span 2 Sundays this year: December 16th and the 23rd. Come at 10 am before service for prime building, but don’t worry – you’re free to help add on during coffee hour if you’re occupied in the morning.

11:00 a.m. – Children’s Religious Exploration

During the worship service, our children and youth will be invited to the Meditative Maker’s Corner in the sanctuary to work on an activity that is relevant to the day’s theme and helps to teach them about Unitarian Universalism- our Principles and our Sources- and encourages them to learn how to worship Please email Jennifer Littleton at re@uuclakeland.org for more information.

11:00 a.m. – Worship Service

Mystery and Wonder- Joy:

Join us for our 2nd Annual Milk and Cookie Communion. You will find joy and lots of fun for all ages during this worship service! We will hear tales from Icelandic Christmas traditions, sing Icelandic songs, and participate in a Milk and Cookie Communion. Kids of all ages (from 0 to 103!) are invited to come in their pajamas! Also, children and youth are invited to bring a shoe to place on our window sills in expectation of a visit from the yule lads during the week! What might it be filled with when they come back on the 23rd?
