10:00 a.m. – Sunday Seekers

Sunday Seekers evolved from the Adult-RE discussion-group format to more of a “support group” format.  It’s a place to express joys and sorrows, discuss issues of the week, and receive companionship and loving support from other group members.

The children’s program is now meeting every Sunday morning! We are exploring the seven principles and what it means to be UU.

On Reacquainting Yourself with Ordinary Joy Robin Wall Kimmerer an indigenous teacher of the intersection of the wisdom of plants, ecology and scholarship, writes:

“Even a wounded world is feeding us. Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy. I choose joy over despair. Not because I have my head in the sand but because joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift.”

When we read these words they might resonate deeply in our hearts, but yet sometimes it is difficult to remember them as we go about the tasks of our daily lives. This Sunday, we will gain a deeper understanding of what joy really is and how it differs from happiness. We will engage in a spiritual practice of opening up to joy and then share it with others.
